Research concerning ultrasonic chains with torsional vibrations for different industrial applications

The paper deals with design, modelling, and testing of an ultrasonic (US) chain torsional vibrations that includes a tool at its end could be used for different industrial applications such conventional nonconventional machining revolution, helicoidal, curved surfaces or various types materials. US horn helicoidal channel whose profile was studied aiming growing the amplification amplitude tool, positioned in antinode point. After shape design horn, finite element analysis applied to simulate integrated highest amplitude. Some experiments were made electrical discharge (EDM) aided by vibrations. results emphasized technological parameters improvement like rate increase surface roughness decrease, compared usual EDM without US.
